James McKendry was born in Bushmills, County Antrim in 1935. James is one of Ireland’s foremost artists. He graduated in 1958 after 5 years’ study in Ireland and England and rapidly gained acclaim as an artist by executing many large-scale commission sculptures. In the early 1960‘s, he became a regular exhibitor with the Young Contemporary’s Group in Dublin. Since then, he has had many one-man exhibitions in Ireland, England and abroad. A growing proportion of his output is especially commissioned by clients in Britain, U.S.A. and Canada. His work is now represented in many private and corporate collections.
