Mary Christie
Born and living in rural Derry. Degree: Geography and History, QUB Taught in secondary sector. Currently teaching primary part time. Always interested in craft. Success in knitwear and design emulated from her skillful handling of colour and texture. Largely self-taught, her love of the Irish countryside with its changing moods and colours, inspires her individual painting style. Exhibitions
- Great success in having paintings chosen for, and sold in The Royal Ulster Academy Exhibitions of 1996, 1997 and 1998.
- Paintings in the Desmond Collection in London.
- Glebe Gallery Exhibition 1999.
- Group Exhibition in Boston 2000.
- Laing 2000
- Late 2000 had a joint exhibition in The Ken McGilloway Gallery in L'Derry. New work there all year round.
